Why is gelatin helpful for joint pain?

Gelatin has been proven to help many people suffering from joint pain because it contains collagen that is composed of specific proteins used by the body to rebuild damaged joints.

In one study, patients suffering from severe arthritis were given one tablespoon of type II chicken collagen per day and almost all (29 out of 30) of the patients received relief from joint pain within 90 days and four of the patients receiving collagen were able to obtain complete remission of all symptoms during the testing period.  No side effects were evident.  This data suggests that collage, found in gelatin, is an excellent remedy for many people suffering from arthritis.
