Nutrients for arthritis

Arthritis is defined as joint inflammation or pain.  There are many different types of injuries, micro-organisms or other conditions that can damage the joints and cause the symptoms that are collectively known as arthritis.

Some specific nutrients can be especially beneficial for helping your body to reduce inflammation and rebuild damaged tissue are

  • Tocopherols
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
  • Calcium
  • Beta-Carotene
  • Proteins –
  • Iron
  • Omega-3 Fatty acids
  • Quercetin

These are nutrients that can be found in many natural foods.  Most natural foods contain one or more of these nutrients.  Sunflower seeds, for instance contain high levels of tocopherols, magnesium and zinc.

Foods that can provide some of these nutrients for you are

  • Red Palm Fruit Oil
  • Flax seeds
  • Chia seeds
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Leafy greens like kale or spinach
  • Sweet potatoes

Keeping your digestion working properly is also important for fighting arthritis.  Eating nutritious foods usually means that you’re getting sufficient fiber to keep your digestion working well.

Another food that helps many people is gelatin.  Gelatin provides some important forms of protein that the body can readily use to repair joint tissue.  Gelatin can reduce pain for some people suffering from arthritis and can even help people to rebuild degraded tissue like cartilage.
